Three Stories that have the Book world Buzzing

Customers in a bookstore can vary from well-informed types who know exactly what they’re after down to the publisher responsible for printing the work, whereas other customers will start off with descriptions like “it’s about an argument or a fight and the cover has this picture of a girl sitting on a rock…I think”. Being informed on current events and upcoming books can be incredibly beneficial when dealing with such vague descriptions and knowledge of recently publicized controversies is just as useful.
The release of the humourous parenting book Go the F**k to Sleep which is endorsed by Mem Fox has every customer wanting to discuss the sexual inclinations of her husband, who was recently found guilty of conducting an illicit affair with a teenager.
Another book in high demand is the autobiography of Jaycee Dugard, who was kidnapped in 1991, aged 11 and was not rediscovered until 2009. The book entitled A Stolen Life, describes her traumatic experience and relationship with her kidnapper, Phillip Garrido, who is also responsible for fathering her two daughters. Our store has already run out of stock with the biography predicted to have a similar success to Natalie Kampusch’s 3096 Days.
The third book that is yet to be released and that has already received some free publicity, is the upcoming biography of Hazel Hawke, written by her daughter Sue Pieters-Hawke. Brisbane Airport was recently host to a heated confrontation between the daughter and her stepmother, Blanche d’Alpuget, with the catalyst rumoured to be her mother’s biography. The book is said to contain an unfavourable portrayal of former Prime Minister, Bob Hawke’s second wife and is to be considered to answer several of the allegations raised in Ms d’Alpuget’s already published biography on her husband. The book, Hazel: My Mother’s Story, is due to be released this coming November.
